Who We Are.jpg

WHO WE ARE

Our Pastor

Pastor Travis first felt the call of God on his life as a young child. He began singing in church at a very young age. Not long after graduating high school he began to preach the Gospel. Eventually he became the worship leader of the church he was born and raised in (Christ Temple Church) at the age of 24. On September 25th, 2011, at the age of 27, Travis became the Lead Pastor of what is now Spirit & Truth Worship Center. For over a decade Pastor Travis has been serving the church full time. He’s thankful for what God has done, excited about what God is doing, and looking forward to what God has planned for the future!

The Moses Family

Pastor Travis is all about God and family. He has a beautiful wife Danyelle who works alongside him in the ministry of the church. She is the love of his life and his helpmate from heaven. He also has 3 irresistible daughters who are his princesses. Marley, Daisy, and June keep him smiling and laughing, they are truly his inspiration.

Our Beliefs.jpg

OUR BELIEFS

THE WORD

At Spirit & Truth Worship Center, we believe that the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God. We believe God’s Word is incapable of making mistakes. It is the final authority of our lives, and final source of all that we accept to be true. (John 1:1) (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

GOD

We believe there is only one God who exists as Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4) (John 14:9) (John 14:26). He is the creator of heaven and earth, and all living things. (Genesis 1 & 2) (Colossians 1:16-17)

JESUS CHRIST

We believe in Jesus Christ. That He is ultimately God embodied in the flesh (John 1:14) (John 10:30 )(John 14:9) (Philippians 2:5-6). We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ was supernaturally born of the virgin Mary, He lived a sinless life, and that His votive and sacrificial death on the cross was for our ransom and to deliver the human race from sin. (Matthew 1:18-25) After His death, He was buried for 3 days but rose again in power and is alive forevermore (Luke 24) (John 20).

We believe that Jesus Christ is our sovereign Lord. And that at the Name of Jesus, every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:10-11).

REPENTANCE

We believe in repentance. We believe God’s Word requires us to personally examine our hearts, minds, desires, and life. If there is anything in us or about us that does not properly align with His Word, we must lay it down and turn away from it (Acts 2:38) (Luke 13:3) (2 Corinthians 13:5).

BAPTISM

We believe in baptism. We believe in water baptism by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and that it is a necessary expression of our faith. Water baptism is absolutely essential in our conversion experience. The Bible teaches God’s people are to be buried with Christ in water baptism (Romans 6:4) (Colossians 2:12-14) (Acts 2:38).

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the Holy Spirit. We believe that God’s desire is for His Spirit to dwell in all believers (John 20:22) (Acts 19:2). Through the Holy Spirit comes power (Acts 1:8). Power over sin. Power over the flesh. Power over fear and anxiety. And finally, power over all the plans and schemes of the enemy. We believe that through the Holy Spirit God gives us a propensity for righteousness. The fruit of the Holy Spirit presents to us the ability to love, to have peace, to be patient, and to make morally good, justified, acceptable and right choices in life (Galatians 5:22-23). We believe that through the power of the Holy Spirit God transcends our native tongue/language and gives to us the supernatural ability to speak in other tongues that cannot be interpreted by man (Romans 8:26-27) (Acts 2:4) (I Corinthians 14:2).

SPIRITUAL GIFTS

We believe in the spiritual gifts of the Holy Spirit. To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge, to another faith, to another gifts of healing, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills (I Corinthians 12:1-11)

STATEMENT OF FAITH

In 1986, there was a Christian Music Artist by the name of Rich Mullins who released a song entitled, “Creed”. We believe some of the words to this song best define our statement of faith as a church.

“I believe in God the Father, Almighty Maker of Heaven and Maker of Earth, And in Jesus Christ His only begotten Son, our Lord, And I believe in the Holy Spirit, one Holy Church, The communion of Saints, The forgiveness of sin, I believe in the resurrection , I believe in a life that never ends, I believe what I believe, Is what makes me what I am, Oh, I did not make it, no it is making me, It is the very truth of God and not the invention of any man.”
